Slower ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, caught by Jacks. England secure a convincing victory by 21 runs to start the series on a high note. The West Indies openers struggled during the powerplay, failing to gain momentum early in their innings. However they were in a decent position towards the halfway stage when Evin Lewis holed out for 39 on the stroke of the drinks break. From there they lost the game in the second half of the innings with other batters failing to establish themselves. The England bowlers adhered to their game plan and executed it perfectly, with Liam Dawson taking four wickets in his return to international cricket. He was also named Player of the Match.
